How do I tie my Covet Estate Summary to my existing Will?

Some users already have a will prepared and simply need a way to update the assets, beneficiaries and allocations in an easy way. Covet makes this easy.

The Covet Estate Summary can be tied to an existing will in many states. (See below)

Once you have entered all of the following:

  1. Your personal information (name, address, email, phone, etc)
  2. Your spouse's information
  3. Your beneficiaries
  4. Set your default beneficiary allocations
  5. Entered all the assets you want to include in your plans (and set any specific allocations for these)
  6. Go your Vault by selecting "Vault" from the menu in the upper lefthand corner
  7. Go the "My Documents" section in the lower lefthand corner of the Vault
  8. Beside Estate Summary, click "View" and then "View Print & Sign" Your estate summary will open on your screen.
  9. Scroll to the bottom (last page), read and follow the important instructions there on how to insert language into your existing will.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS CANNOT BE DONE IN THE FOLLOWING STATES: Alabama, California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and West Virginia. These states' laws do not allow for a separate listing of assets and dispositions to be tied to a will. In those states, Covet will automatically populate the Will created in Covet with that information.
