Does Covet show my total estate value?

Knowing your total estate value gives a comprehensive view of your financial standing, aiding in better decision-making for both current and future financial health. Covet does this for you.

Depending on how comprehensively a user captures their asset details in their Covet Vault, Covet can deliver a good picture of a person's total estate value or "wealth." Put another way, Covet only knows what has been input and it will report a "top line" value for everything that has been included. It also has the capability of including debts and offers both a "Total Vault Value" (All values summed) and a "Net Vault Value" (Total Vault Value minus any debts or liabilities that have been added by the user).

Knowing the value of your entire estate is useful for several important reasons:

  1. Estate Planning: Understanding the total value of your assets helps in creating an effective estate plan, ensuring your wealth is distributed according to your wishes after your passing.

  2. Tax Planning: Knowing the value can help you anticipate and plan for potential estate taxes, which could affect the inheritance your beneficiaries receive.

  3. Insurance Coverage: It allows you to assess whether you have adequate insurance coverage for your assets, including property, valuables, and life insurance.

  4. Financial Planning: A clear picture of your estate's value aids in making informed financial decisions, such as investments, retirement planning, and charitable donations.

  5. Debt Management: Knowing your estate’s value helps in understanding your net worth, which can be crucial for managing debts and liabilities effectively.

  6. Legal Compliance: It ensures that you meet any legal requirements related to asset declarations, especially if you have international assets or complex financial arrangements.
